Platinum Law Group
Reviews and Complaints
Did not do their part after I paid them the fee.
Since my complaint, my husband and I have been trying daily to get ahold of Platinum Law Group. Our rep, Emanuel Jaramillo, sent me an e-mail stating that if we have an issue, we need to take it up with the Accounting Department.
My husband left 2 messages with someone in Accounting, who stated in their message that our call would be returned within 48 hours. That\'s never happened. I keep e-mailing Emanuel sometimes twice daily, hoping for a response.
No one there will return my calls. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and they are still waiting for a reply from Platinum Law Group
We signed up with Platinum Law Group for their debt relief program. We paid them $3,000 for help with our credit cards.
Emanuel Jaramilo was the one we were working with. He got a settlement for us on one of our 3 cards. We paid that off in monthly payments. Meanwhile, Emanuel told us he would get a settlement for our other 2 cards.
He got a settlement for one of the 2 cards, but they wanted a lump sum. We told Emanuel we could only pay monthly payments. Emanuel told us he would try to get another one that we could pay monthly payments on. It never happened.
Also, he never got a settlement on our 3rd card. When I tried to contact Emanuel many times, he never returned our calls, or answered my e-mails. He finally answered me, telling me through e-mail that our case was closed last year in June, and that he told me that last year. He never told me our case was closed.
Now I'm trying to find out what happened to our refund on the fee we paid for the card that he didn't get a settlement on. He refuses to answer my phone calls, or e-mails. I'm very frustrated. Platinuim Law Group owes my husband and I $700.
I would not recommend this firm to anyone needing debt relief.
Their ACTUAL physical ADDRESS
This is the physical address: 457 West Allen Avenue #114, San Dimas, CA 91773..... The Wilshire address is a fluke.
The so called attorneys hire deperate people..no drug tests..no criminal background check..no base pay. They hire them to do their dirty work. If you received a call from Don Newton, he is a fugitive, a 61 year old man running from the IRS. He sounds articulate over the phone but he is really an old man who can not get employment anywhere else because of his age, criminal past, and drug addictions.
This company has changed its name several times: Platinum, Principal, and Priority Law Groups.
Their current slogan: Every day is a holiday, another hustling making dollar day. SAD.
Platinum Law Group in California - Jerry Stevenson - Paul Hernandez - Beverly Hills, CA
I started working with Platinum Law Group in December of 2010 and signed the documents and paid them in advance for their services with a contract that has absolutely no losses for the Law firm that is owned by Jerry Stevenson.
When I first started inquiring with them, Paul Hernandez, the representative would call me almost daily to find out if I was ready to move ahead. I've done sales and he did not seemed as a law representative but a salesman. After I agreed to the terms and paid for the services via credit cards, I stopped hearing from Paul Hernandez on a regular basis and he would also not pick up my calls. A few emails he has returned, mis-communication has taken place, my real questions have gone unanswered including why he is requesting from me critical information that was provided at the beginning and why a second, modified power of attorney is being requested.
I have very little faith for Platinum Law Group via Paul Hernandez. I have already paid for the services but I have seen no results after 3 months. Paul has not responded to my question on what has been completed up to now. Paul Hernandez has also played that he had requested a document over the phone and he was waiting on me. This is the second time he lies; at least this is only the second time that I have noticed, I cannot really tell the number of times I have been lied to.
Platinum Law Group has several services, the one I paid for is the debt relief program, credit cards, unsecured loans and similar. Again, I'm yet to see that they have done a thing. I cannot even get a simple response from the really bad customer servicer Paul Hernandez.

I'm unaware if this will go anywhere or if this Law firm will not rip me off. At this point I now have my doubts to wether this firm is a real firm or just a scam.
Don't make the same mistake as me. Be careful, be cautions, beware.

JC

PLatinum Law Group Hires Fugitives
Donald Newton goes by the name of Don Newton is employed with this company. He is a crack addict and a fugitive on the run for Real Estate Fraud.
Platinum Law Group hires anybody to do their dirty work for them. Don Newton knowingly took money from potential clients knowing that it was unlawful. Platinum is getting away with his because they select desperate people like Newton to do their dirty work for them. They hire them as independent contractors to sit up in a call center all day and rip people off.
I hope that justice will soon be served and all of the people who were taken advantage of..be refunded their monies. This is sad.

The services is provided at no cost, with the admonition that the lender recommends that borrowers should avoid paying third party intervenors to negotiate loan modifications.

After my husband I were told we had been pre-approved for a loan mod by Charlie Melendez who worked for Platinum Law group, we gave them $3000.00 to start the process. We heard nothing for several months always calling to find out what was going on with the modification process, always getting someones voice mail.
When we would hear from them they would say they were working on it with Bank of America. Then a couple of weeks before Christmas we got a notice saying our house would be sold. Calling Platinum law in a panic to find out what had happened they said not too worry they were still in negotiations.
Suddenly today February 22 with out any notices we found out our home had been sold over the weekend. PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from Platinum Law Group!!!!!
Customer Service?
I am trying to do loan modifications on my primary residence and my rental. I spoke to a really nice man, Charlie, when I started and he told me most modifications take 90-120 days.
I gave them $5,000 to take care of both of these and one page of the agreement is if they aren't successful I get all of my money back. This started in May of 2011. Charlie, the nice man is since gone and a woman has taken his place. She doesn't return phone calls and only answers emails when it suits her.
I think they forget they work for us you have paid them. I want to know how long this is going to take and why am I getting Fed Ex mail from Chase stating that I don't qualify? I have emailed her twice about this and no response.
At first I was excited about this and going to recommend them but not anymore. Remember the name Platinum Law Group people!
Loan mod.....also scammed
Add another sucker to the list. Same allegedly 100% money back guarantee.
Paid around $1600 in August. Bank denied my loan mod. Anyone know where this criminals are physically located? Actually have an office in San Dimas or Beverly Hills?

ZERO PHONE CALLS HAVE BEEN RETURNED. WHEN I DO TALK TO SOMEONE THAT WORKS FOR THIS SO CALLED COMPANY,ALL I HEAR IS LIES.
Stay away from this outfit!
My story is very similar to those posted here. Started working with Daniel Ardon in 5/11 for a loan modification.
Paid them $2700 after receiving a letter that if the modification was denied, I would be refunded this amount. Six months go by and I finally called my lender, Chase, who informs me there has been absolutely no communication between this firm and them. This is after Daniel repeatedly told me things were moving along and going well. I have sent him many personal docs - I hope my ID isn't going to be compromised.
I have filed complaints to the State Bar of CA, the BBB, the Attorney General and will continue to find more ways to stop this business. The office mgr, John De La Garza, called me yesterday and mumbled something about getting my money back to me after he looked into the matter but what he really wanted to know is if I filed a complaint with the State Bar. Haven't heard back from him, of course. The worse of it is I'm a fairly intelligent person and I just can't believe I got involved with these scam artists.
*** on my part. Don't do it, believe me.
Platinum scam
Has anyone took them to small claims or reported it to the district attorneys office? Im so frusterated I could scream.
Oh wait I already have......I have just contacted the da. I have read the complaints and mine follow to a tea...I want to fly down and confront in person, but I dont want to speend anymore money than i need to. Just seeing If there is manymore who have been scamed and have got any of there money back?
I would love to hear from you>>>>Or have any of you consulted a lawyer on your behalf? I am working with one kinda sorta now.
Platinum Law Group Marketing Ploy
Platinum Law Group sends realistic-looking letters to potential clients by making their letters appear as though they are being sent by the home-owner's lender. Only if you can see super tiny print do you notice that in fact they have nothing to do with your lender.
*** buckets.
After you've called them they make it look like they're doing you a favor by charging you $2,000 to help you with a loan modification.
Don't get involved with them. Any company that's worth its salt does not have to disguise who they are.
